- implement effective housekeeping program
- remove unnecessary objects in storage vicinity
- implement FIFO effectively
- inspect and repair storage bins for any openings that may allow pest entry
- keep areas as dry as possible
- clean storage areas and bins before use, paying special attention to cracks, crevices, and sub-floors spray piling areas with pesticide (Coopex) prior to storage; use caulk or paint to seal cracks and crevices
- store paper products or cardboard boxes away from moist areas and direct contact with the floor or walls
- clean trash cans regularly, use plastic liners in trash cans, seal/tie garbage palstic liner when disposing
- store foods and paste in containers that are inaccessible to pests; eating should be done only in designated areas
- create inhospitable living conditions for pests by reducing availability of food and water
- remove carcasses in the vicinity
- eliminate odors that attract flies
- stored grains should be properly clean and dry mops and mop buckets; hang mops vertically on rack above floor drain
- the aisles space requirement in between piles is two (2) feet while between wall to pile is three (3) feet, these are recommended for ease in cleaning and pest intervention

On Sanitation and Storage Management
Regular sanitation will deny easy access to food, harborage and stable habitat necessary for their propagation thus disrupting their life cycles.
